I’m Kymberley Apiro, a London-based photojournalist and video journalist working across documentary, breaking news and cultural reporting. I currently contribute stills and video to Getty Images and work as a video journalist stringer for AFP. I have covered a wide range of assignments, from high-profile cultural events to grassroots movements and breaking news. I approach every story with curiosity, precision and a deep respect for context. My work is people-led, focusing on the motivations, tensions and environments that shape lived experience. With an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography and a BA in Film and Televison Production from the University of the Arts London, I bring a cinematic eye to factual storytelling. I am comfortable shooting, producing and editing under pressure, adapting quickly to evolving situations while maintaining clarity of narrative and tone. I understand what editors need: accuracy, strong visuals, clean audio and efficient delivery.
Explore 'The Space In Between' an ongoing documentary project examining identity, belonging, and life between cultures.
I am currently available for freelance photo and video journalism assignments, including breaking news coverage, features, cultural events and long-form documentary work. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, reliable journalist who can work fluidly across photography and video, I’d be glad to connect.
